Brittney Griner is known for playing above the rim, dunking with ease, a unique ability in the women's game. Her skill level has led some to wonder if she she might join the NBA. That looks like a long shot but the Baylor just went number one in the WNBA Draft. She will play for the Phoenix Mercury in Nikes as she just signed with the label. It will be interesting to see if the high flyer eventually gets her own signature sneaker.
Nike has also signed Elena Delle Donne a prep baller who signed with powerhouse UConn but eventually played her college ball with Delaware. The Chicago Sky picked her up with the number two pick in the draft.
With the third pick in the draft, the Tulsa Shock chose Notre Dame guard Skylar Diggins who is also now with Nike. Diggins has created a stir on Twitter as people fell in love with her during the NCAA tournament for dishing out good looks while looking good.
