Counter culture Robert Crumb recently released a complete illustrated version of the book of Genesis from the Bible. Crumb has also teamed up with Vans to create a collection of sneakers.
Paris based Colette just got in the Vans Chukka from the collection. The sneaker comes in a white with a "Modern America" illustration on the heel and the insole.
For all of us that can't get enough of sneakers with with boot-like metal eyelets, Vans will release a pack just for us. The Sierra pack includes two Vans 106 LX with in black and the other in cream. The pack also includes the Vans Chukka LX. Check shops that carry Vans for availability.
At first glance, these Vans Chukkas look very comfortable with their fur inner-lining. While the inside is constructed of soft fur-like material the exterior is made of wool. The kicks, which are part of the California collection are now available in bright red and dark brown in Japan at Essence.
Two new Fall 2009 drops from Vans are hitting retailers: The Vans Switchback and Chukka.
The Switchback has a black waxed canvas upper on gum midsole. Metal eye lets for the contrasting red/black laces round up the sneaker.
The Chukka comes with either grey or dark blue suede upper. For the dark blue a white midsole has to do the contrast job, while the grey version has a navy green midsole.

The classic sailor jacket has drawn obvious inspiration by vans in the creation of their latest release of the Chukka. One of the kicks comes in a navy / black colorway and the other in grey / black. The kicks are constructed in wool and feature a strap on the side panel with a nautical inspired button. Both are now available at Paris based Colette.
The anticipated release of the three pack of Vans styled by Dutch artist Parra is upon us. The pack includes the Vans Sk8 Hi, Vans Era, and Vans Chukka all featuring the trademark colors and illustrative style of Parra.
