Earlier this month we posted images of the adidas Rod Laver Consortium collection. adidas has recruited Los Angeles based UNDFTD, Barcelona based LimitEDitions, Tokyo based VA, and NYC based DQM to style a pair of the classic tennis sneaker. In addition to the sneaker shop designed pairs of the Rod Laver, the original "Grass Court" colorway of the kicks has now released. The kicks are available now at select sneaker shops including Undefeated.
The classic adidas Rod Laver originally conceived as a tennis court has like so many of it contemporaries has been elevated to a style icon.
The kicks have just released in five colorways including its original colorway in off-white and green known as "The Grass Court".
The other four colorways have been designed by some of the top sneaker shops from around the globe. These shops include New York City based DQM that styled the Rod Laver in a simple brown colorway.
Barcelona based LimitEDitions styled the Rod Laver in red colorway with neon accents.
Los Angeles based Undefeated styled the kicks in a sand canvas with light brown leather accents.
Finally Tokyo based sneaker shop VA contribution in a simple grey upper with "VA" in yellow on the heel.
The kicks are expected to release over the next two months.
In comparison to the other sneakers in adidas 3Way Consortium Asia group these adidas Forum Mids are tame. If you look at the sneakers individually you see that they are quite bold. The kicks come in a ice grey base with neon yellow accents on the stripes, laces, stitching and netting on the midsole. The kicks are creation of Crooked Tongues and VA. The sneakers are set to release on the 18th of July 2009 at shops such as SNS for 136 euros.
The Asian edition of the adidas 3Way Consortium collection is by far the boldest in comparison to the European and North American sets. The adidas Samba is the strongest pair of the Asian collection with a design conceived of by sneaker shops ACU and VA. The kicks incorporate a big clear plastic window on the upper reminiscent of the "Invisible Woman" Nike Air Force 1's. Otherwise, the kicks are constructed in in suede in a blue base with purple, yellow and neon stripes sitting on a translucent sole.
The kicks are set to release this Saturday the 18th of July at select shops such as Stockholm based SNS.
The adidas Consortium 3Way collection, has already gathered sneaker shops from North America and Europe to produce collections that were globally available.
The third go of the 3Way collection focuses on Asian sneaker shops and London based Crooked Tongues, which has ties to thailand.
Among the sneakers that the group focused was adidas Superstar 80's. Seen after the jump are five off-white nubuck Superstars. The defining element of each sneaker is the tongue.
The four shops styled their individual tongues and the fifth represents all of the shops, which include ACU, D-Mop, VA and Crooked Tongues.
The kicks are set to release on the 18th of July 2009.
Representing V in Adidas Originals aZX collection created by some of the biggest players in the global sneaker game, is the Tokyo based concept shop VA put on by Styles. The sneaker is the Adidas ZX 9000 which, comes mari and grey sweatshirt materials on the upper. The kicks are set to release on the 18th of October.
