adidas Consortium Your City Drop 2

The idea behind the adidas Consortium "Your City" collection is connecting city branded sneakers with sneaker shops. During the 1970's and 80's adidas created a number of athletic sneakers named after cities from around the globe. Adidas has brought back some of these sneakers with help from a collection of select sneaker shops.

The first drop of the adidas Consortium "Your City" collection included the adidas Trainer L.A. x UNDFTD, the adidas Oslo x Sole Service, the adidas Berlin x Solebox and the adidas Boston Super x Bodega.

Tomorrow, the second drop of the collection is set to release at shops that carry adidas Originals footwear. The second collection includes the adidas Milano x Slam Jam, adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff, adidas Kopenhagen x Norse Projects, and adidas New York x Dave's Quality Meats.

Reebok Pump 20 x Sneakers N' Stuff

A few weeks ago we posted a mix of teaser images of Stockholm based Sneakers N' Stuff's entry to the Reebok Pump 20th anniversary collection. As sneaker collaboration veterans, the folks at SNS have a strategy for creation, which is to represent the Swedish culture and landscape. Here is how the SNS crew describe their creation:

As the shoe is released in November, we figured we had to do a Fall/Winter sneaker that will keep you dry and warm. For upper materials we have worked with nubuck and wool and hooks and rings for the laces to get that proper hiking boot feel. In the lining we added Thinsulate for extra insulation, and Reebok Play Dry to transport moisture from your foot to help you to stay warm. With safety orange details, you are sure to be seen if you are lost, and the text on the side "alltid redo" (always ready) is the Swedish Scout motto.

The sneakers will go on sale the 20th of November exclusively at SNS, limited to 31 pairs. Check out the interview with Erik Börjesson of SNS where he breaks down his thoughts on the sneaker.

adidas Consortium "Your City" | Drop 2 / Preview

During the 1970's and 1980's adidas created a large catalog of sneakers named after cities around the world. adidas Originals has now created the Consortium "Your City" collection, breathing fresh life to these classic models.
adidas has recruited sneaker shops from respective cities to style the kicks giving them local legitimacy.

The first round of releases from the adidas Consortium "Your City" collection dropped in mid October. That collection included the adidas Oslo x Sole Service, adidas LA Trainer x Undefeated, adidas Berlin x Solebox, and the adidas Boston x Bodega.

This time around the selected models and cities include New York, Milan, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

adidas Milano x Slam Jam

Italy's world renowned sneaker shop Slam Jam is based in Milan, and has thus been given the task of styling the adidas Milano. The kicks feature a vibrant shade of blue covering most of sneaker in nylon. The three stripes on the side panel come in lime green leather giving the sneaker a more daring look. The tongue and eyelet areas are built in crinkle patent leather. The tongue also is branded Slam Jam. The sneakers side panel branding reads Milano and Slam Jam in gold.

adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff

Yesterday we previewed the adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff. Today we have a closer look at the sneaker. The sneaker is built in grey overbrushed suede with touches of yellow on the tongue and blue leather on the heel and stripes, which all rests on a gum sole. The sneakers heel features SNS branding and the gold foil on the side panel reads both Stockholm and Sneakers N' Stuff.

The original adidas Stockholm came in a blue and yellow colorway inspired by the Swedish flag. The blue and yellow are retained on the sneakers however as secondary elements. The sneakers base comes in grey, which is inspired by the cloudy winter Stockholm sky.

adidas Kopenhagen x Norse Projects

Copenhagen based shop Norse Projects profile has risen this year with their collaboration with New Balance. The shop has now been given the job of styling the adidas Kopenhagen.

The sneakers upper is colored primarily in navy blue except for yellow on the top metal eyelet and heel tab. In terms of build the sneakers are constructed in leather except for lacestays, stripes, and toe, which are made of suede. The side panel like the rest of sneakers in the collection reads Kopenhagen and Norse Projects.

adidas New York x Dave's Quality Meats

New York based DQM, which is a frequent adidas collaborator has given the undertaking of styling the adidas New York. The runner, which first surfaced in the 1980's comes in shades of black, referencing the New York blackouts. The sneakers most distinctive feature can be seen on the top four eyelets are brass d-rings, giving the kicks boot look. "New York" and "DQM" are embossed on the sneakers stripes.

We will keep you posted when the sneakers release before the end of the year.

Sizeeleven.com | Erik Börjesson Letting Go Of His Sneakers

Erik Börjesson, co-founder of SNS and avid sneaker collector, is letting go of a huge amount of his personal sneaker collection.
As he states on Sizeeleven.com he has been collecting sneakers for 16 years now. Since the numbers of pairs went past 600 he decided to let go of many of them.

Eriks size is size 11. That is the reason why the sneakers for sale are US size 10.5 to 11.
At the moment about 400 pairs of Adidas, Nikes, Jordans, NBs, Reeboks, Pumas and other brands can be found online. Rumors have it that Erik still has about 300 more pairs that he will put up in the near future.

If you wear around size 11 and are on the lookout for some hard to find kicks you better be quick and check out the Sizeeleven.com rather soon than later.
