Nike SB Blazer "Converse Check Taylor"

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is an icon in both the basketball and fashion world. Given the sneaker's status, it has been a design inspiration for many sneakers that followed it.

Recently, the Nike Dunk High Autoclave released, which takes design cues from the Converse Check Taylor with its canvas upper, metal eyelets and vulcanized sole.

Apparently Nike SB has also taken inspiration from the Converse Chuck Taylor in this reinterpretation of the Nike Blazer. The Blazer is constructed of black canvas like the Chucks with metal eyelets and other references seen on the sole and heel.

The sneakers are a sample, with word that these will ever be seen at sneaker shops. Thanks to Mental Kicks for the images.

adidas Originals x Qubic

Auckland New Zealand based sneaker shop Qubic was given the opportunity to take part in the adidas Originals by Originals project. Frank Liew, owner of Qubic recruited four other sneaker head who with created their own version of their chosen adidas vintage model. Sneaker Freaker editor Woody took part in the collection along with Kevin Downie, Chris Lewis, Sean Aickin. In the mix are three ZX 700's, one Gazelle, and Forum Low.

Note: These are not scheduled to release, rather they are for show. It may be that adidas might release a limited run of the kicks if demand is strong online.

Converse Pro Leather High "Jordan Edition" | Sample

We recently posted an interview with Michael Jordan were he stated he wanted to sign with adidas over Nike when he first entered the NBA. Before the NBA, while at UNC Jordan wore Converse sneakers.

It makes sense that Converse would create a pack of Jordan inspired colorways of the sneaker he wore while playing college ball. Back in 2005, the Converse Pro Leather High "Jordan Edition" were created in a white and gold colorway. The kicks never released despite the concept being on point.

Air Jordan V (5) | Look See Sample

Here is a look at an Air Jordan V that did not make the cut. The kicks come in a white, black and varsity red colorways. What sets this pair apart from a normal pair of Air Jordan V's is an eye towards the toe. The eye is a reference to the original design inspiration for the sneaker, a World War II fighter plane.

The kicks were created for spring 2009 Air Jordan collection, but never released.
