Complex | Top 100 Sneakers of the 2000s

It has been almost 10 years in the "new millennium" aka the 2000s so far. Reason enough for Complex to take a look back on all the releases of this decade that made you look.
They compiled a Top 100 Sneaker Chart of what they think are the highlights within that period.

You can check out the complete Top 100 of the 2000s Sneakers here. You can also participate in the Top 100 user charts yourself.

Worth mentioning at last is that the Top 10 of the charts are strictly dominated by Nike and Air Jordan models.

Nike SB Dunk Low "Chirp" | Sample

Here is a look at a possible release from Nike SB. These SB Dunks come in a black upper with red and white accents with a fury inner-lining. The kicks have an odd added feature, they play sounds of birds chirping when pressure is applied to the tongue. No word if these kicks will make it past the sample phase and actually release.

Creative Recreation Kaplan x Barneys New York

Creative Recreation composed a design for Barneys NYC based on the Kaplan model.
They are available in black/rose and white/rose with an upper made of tumbled leather and leather material mix.

Rose details can be found at the tongue and back of the sneaker.

Hummel Stadil High | Lime, White and Black

The danish foot- and sportswear company Hummel positioned themselves in the Handball sportsmarket pretty well.

Now they released a retro model of the Stadil High.

The Stadil Online is constructed in leather upper with suede accents at the toe cap and heel. They are available in Online Lime Green/Red/Blue leather, white/red/blue leather and black/orange/green leather.
All three feature a stichted Handball Logo on the tongue.

Adidas Originals | Stan Smith Trefoil Mid Womens

Too bad these are only available in womens sizes.

The Adidas Stan Smith Trefoil Mid Womens sneaker was already released in white, purple and metallic gold. Now it is released in light grey suede, black patent leather and electric blue synthetics.
With the Velcro Strap on the ankle Adidas managed to make this a minimalist but still nice to watch sneaker.

Redman x Adidas Superstar II

What is the result when you pair two classics? Right! Most likely another classic.

Adidas took the chance to design a sneaker for rap legend Redman. That for they have chosen the classic Superstar II model as base to build up from.
The sneakers upper is constructed in red suede - what else did you expect? With the white toecap and sole Adidas added just enough contrast that catches the eye. Speaking of the sole: The Outsole features red splatter in tribute to the iconic "Whut?" LP from Redman.

At the back "Funk Doc" is stitched below the Adidas Logo and "Redman" is featured at the midsole.
The obligatory three stripes are held in black. To round up this collaboration Redman is also printed on the tongue in silver and black.

There is no info on release date and availability known at this poitn. We will keep you updated with information as it gets available.

Air Jordan Sixty Plus (60+) "Detroit Pistons" | Detailed Images

We have already seen some Air Jordan Sixty Plus (60+) models drop this year.
There was also a Air Jordan 1 "Detroit Pistons" 60+ released a few weeks ago.

Now detailed images of the Air Jordan Sixty Plus (60+), from the Sixty Plus (60+) Pack, in Detroit Pistons design have made it to the web.
The sneaker has a black nubuck upper with blue stitchings. Its midsole features segemnts of splatterd white, blue and red.

The Jumpman is done in red on the heel and the tongue is held in blue with red Air Jordan wings logo.

They are slated for a release in December 2009.
