SBTG Custom Kicks just released a quick note on the Varsity Bones Prison Blues release confirming the release date on the 9th of August 10 PM E.S.T. at Royalefam. It is also confirmed now that there will be only 12 pairs of the Dunk High and 12 pairs of the Dunk Low version.

In 2008 SBTG/Royalefam was sent an eight compartment box containing seven vintage college Nike Dunks in celebration of the "Year of the Dunk". It's easy mathematics to tell that one of the eight compartments was still empty. So SBTG decided to fill up that empty compartment with a dedication "...to those that play the game differently, dress different and refuse to conform to rules or tradition."
The "Prison Blues" is the first shoe in SBTGs Varsity Bones line, based on the fictitious prison basketball team of "Folsom Prison" (inspired by Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues"). There will be a Dunk Low and a Dunk High Version released on August 9th 2009 (10pm est).
Don't get it twisted - I don't want to sound corny but it's good to see that there are still people out there that care about the story behind a sneaker. SBTG and Roayalefam get an A+ for that. They did their homework...
The Varsity Bones Prison Blues is mostly made of premium denim, the swoosh has a "Folsom Prison Blues" lyrics print and the tongue has a zipper. Just to name a few details... awesome! Because of this and because there will only be 24 pairs for sale this sneaker will be an instant classic! Price: $650 for the high's, $550 for the low's.
Sneaker artists Phu and Royalefam have collaborated on set of sneakers with a theme of an aerial battle entitled "Death from Above". The pack includes a pair of customized Nike Air Max 90 called the "Phantom Mirage" and the "Death Seeker" Nike Air Force. The kicks are limited to 8 pairs each and you can only pick them up at Royalefam the 30th of March 2008 at 10pm New York time.
