Kool-Aid, yes those powder crystals when mixed with sugar and water produce a drink, which is iconic if not refreshing. Well what happens when you mix Kool-Aid not with sugar and water but with sneakers…well Reebok was bold enough not only to ask that question but also to follow through with some kicks.
The kicks are an official collaboration between Reeboks and Kraft’s, to honor New England Patriot Laurence Maroney who has been called Kool-Aid since his youth.
Three flavors from the collection are set to release on the 1st of February 2008, Grape (my personal favorite Kool-Aid flavor), Strawberry, and Cherry. The kicks will not only feature Kool-Aid colors, images, but also the aroma of the flavors in sock lining of the kicks.
You can pick up the kicks at select retailers around the US such as: Moe's Sneaker Spot Inc, Lezmir, Peko Sports Inc, Karmaloop, Sportie LA, City Blue, Shiekh's, Shoe Mania, and Dr. Jay's. The kicks will be available in both men’s and children sizes ranging in price from $50-$75 with the accessories (t-shirts, hoodies and hats) in the collection costing from $28-$65.
Round two of the collection is set to release in April with Lemonade, Lemon-Line and Orange flavors, expected to be available for consumption.
