A few years back Hip Hop mogul Damon Dash took the reigns at Keds. The brand then tried to evolve its image from classic footwear to edgy sneakers in the vein of the Nike Air Force 1 and Bape.
Keds has shed its edgy look and now has embraced the minimalist trend in footwear. Frankly, the brand's look is more at home in this setting, which is evident from the winter 2009 releases of the Keds Chukka Suede and Pro Keds Royal Lo CVS. You can find them at shops such as California based Huf.
NYC native Bobbito Garcia is synonymous with New York City urban culture from Hip Hop to basketball of course sneakers. Garcia has hooked up with Pro Keds on a collection of the brand's Royal Flash model. The collection consists of four colorways in suede of the model ranging from yellow, olive, orange, and plum.

We recently posted about the Pro Keds Royal Low created in collaboration with Berlin based Solebox. The kicks come in a black canvas upper with red accents on the top eyelet, pull-tabs and toe of the midsole. The kicks released this weekend and are now available in Paris at Colette for 70 euros.
Here is a preview of the Pro-Keds Royal Flash Mid from the classic sneaker brand's Spring 2010 collection. The kicks come in a suede construction in two basic colorways with one in blue / white and the other in black / white.

Just two months ago that Berlin based sneaker shop Solebox had hooked up with footwear brand Keds. Now we have an update on the project. The sneaker still have not released but we do have a release date, which is set for the 19th of September.
The Pro Keds Royal Low comes in a canvas construction in black, white, with red accents. When the sneakers do release you can get them online at Solebox.
