British-American guard Ben Gordon has switched teams and is now playing for the Detroit Pistons. Nike has hooked up a Player Edition of the Hyperize Supreme in Piston colors for Gordon. The sneaker is anchored with a pearl white patent leather base with Varsity red serving as a balancing color. Varsity royal accents can also be seen on the upper. Check your local for availability.
Now with the NCAA College Basketball season gearing up to begin, Nike has hooked up the Hyperize in select teams sponsored by Nike. Included on the list is the the University of Connecticut, the alma mater of Ray Allen.
The kicks come in UConn colors with a white base and a mix of midnight navy and varsity red. The kicks feature a premium build with UConn branding on the tongue. The kicks are limited to less than 72 pairs, but you can find them at osneaker. A possible Christmas gift for a true UConn fan.
House of Hoops is opening a new location at Cherry Hill Mall, New Jersey tomorrow. At the new House of Hoops, a Philadelphia inspired Nike Hyperize will be on sale there exclusively. The challenge red/varsity royal-white-green Nike Hyperize will be available on saturday the 15th of August and the varsity maize/black-white will drop there on sunday the 16th of August.
The challenge red Hyperize is made of felt on the upper featuring blue laces and swoosh with white outline and midsole. Inside you find the green checker pattern. The varsity maize has a silky upper with black swoosh and laces as well as an oversized Hyperize tag on the tongue.
Nike has released a music video of the "Hyperizers" called "Don't Criticize". The song's and video's cast is Mo Williams, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Durant and Rashard Lewis.
Whether one likes the sound of the song or not is a matter of taste, but never the less this is a different approch on marketing the Nike Hyperize, and a lot of fun to watch. Enjoy!
We recently posted the upcoming release of the Nike Hyperize Destro from the G.I. Joe pack. The G.I. Joe pack also includes Nike Alpholution Supreme "Cobra Commander" and the Nike Zoom Sharkalaid "Storm Shadow".
Each sneaker features a colorway inspired by a villain from the G.I. Joe franchise and are packaged like the toys were back in the 80's.
On Friday we got a look at the catalog images of the Nike Hyperize Decades Pack. The pack includes four pairs of the Nike Hyperize in colorways based on classic Nike colorways. The Nike Hyperize has been inspired by the Nike Air Max 1 "Safari", Nike Air Max 90 "Infrared", Nike Air Max 95 "Neon", and the Nike Air Penny Foamposite One.
The kicks are very limited. In Australia they will release on the 6th of August at Foot Locker with only 24 pairs of each style available for all of Australia. No word on a global distribution and availability, however we will keep you posted.
Here is a preview from the Nike G.I. Joe pack. The pack includes the Nike Hyperize "Destro", which are inspired by villain Destro from the G.I. Joe franchise. The kicks are nicely styled in metallic silver, with red and yellow accents on an icy sole. Check out tongue, which sports the Cobra Command logo.
