This summer the Nike Air Max 1 and Air Maxim 1 have released in a very high profile fashion. In London, Nike has recruited several artists to help express the significance the sneaker's influence. In the mix are Charlie Dark who gives a great performance at the end of the clip, Goldielocks whose music is the soundtrack for the clip. Numerous other artists are also profiled including INSA who seen but unheard.

Patta x Nike Air Max 1 | Sample

Dutch based sneaker / streetwear shop Patta is celebrating its 5th anniversary his year. With that said we have a look at an unreleased sample of the Nike Air Max 1 designed by Patta. The kicks come in a upper composed of canvas and mesh materials in white with contrasting touches contrasting black sitting a gum outsole. The sneakers are co-branded with Patta in green on the heel and Nike in green on the tongue. Another added touch is the insole with a design inspired by the classic rock album "The Wall" by Pink Floyd. Word has it that the kicks are super limited with only three ever produced.

Nike IAM1 x INSA | London Exhibition at 1948

With all the attention toward the Nike Air Max 1 and its brand new hybrid outgrowth the Nike Air Maxim 1, people have paid tribute to the sneakers. If you have not seen the video were Tinker Hatfield talks about how the Air Max 1 came to be through inspiration by the must see Parisian modern arts museum the George Pompidou Centre, check it out here.

Nike Sportswear has commissioned English based artist Insa to create some artwork inspired by the Air Max 1. Insa explains the origins of the project stating:

“It started with Charlie Dark and the Run Dem Crew and got me thinking of how I see London and running. And I'm not really much of a runner, but I thought maybe my artwork would travel around the city. My art would do the running for me”

With 7 day journey through east London he painted 35 pieces, with a selection of the work seen here. Also check out a video of the project after the jump.

Earlier this year we got a preview of the Nike Air Max 1 "Lanceiro" created to celebrate the second anniversary of sneakers BR. After a long wait the sneakers are set to release globally on the 11th of July at shops such as UNDFTD.

Having already released in Berlin earlier this week the Nike Air Max 1 in the OG red and grey colorway is releasing tomorrow in the United States at shops with Nike Sportswear quickstrike accounts, including Atlanta based Standard and Los Angeles based UNDFTD.
