Earlier this month we gave you word of a contest to design your vision of the Air Jordan XXV. The contest is a great way to break into the sneaker business as a designer because D'Wayne Edwards and Jason Mayden of Jordan Brand are judges are the Judges. Even if Jordan Brand does not hire you off the bat to prime design position, a first place win will give a pair of Air Jordans and exposure. The contest deadline is soon approaching on the 25th of July at midnight (PST). So you still have time to upload your renderings at Project Blue Foot.

Shoes-Up x New Balance Design Contest
Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | Posted in New Balance
New Balance is all about community from its workforce to its strong connection to people in the trenches of the sneaker community.
Now New Balance is reaching out with a design contest. The contest is basic, you must interpret the New Balance 576 and the 1700, however you wish.
The contest is being conducted in collaboration with French sneaker magazine. So the first step is to then download "virgin" templates of the NB 576 and 1700 at Shoes-Up.
After you have you have created a dope colorway you then you email the finished product to nbcc@shoes-up.com
or mail to:
Shoes-Up NBCC
32, rue Pastourelle
75003 Paris
France
Note: you can submit as many designs as you wish.
The cut off date for participation is the 10th of June. All of the entries will then be judged by a panel of heavyweights in the sneaker game such as Jeff Staple and Sarah from Colette.
The prize is more than worth the hours spent creating the kicks. Winners will be taken to Flimby Factory in the UK where they will observe the creation of their design and then be the first to try them on!
Six Hundred pairs of each winning sneaker will be produced and then will be distributed to select sneaker shops.
The best models will then be displayed at a Shoes-Up / New Balance party.
If you win don't forget EU Kicks...give us a shout out and tell us about the experience.
