adidas Consortium "Your City" | Drop 2 / Preview

During the 1970's and 1980's adidas created a large catalog of sneakers named after cities around the world. adidas Originals has now created the Consortium "Your City" collection, breathing fresh life to these classic models.
adidas has recruited sneaker shops from respective cities to style the kicks giving them local legitimacy.

The first round of releases from the adidas Consortium "Your City" collection dropped in mid October. That collection included the adidas Oslo x Sole Service, adidas LA Trainer x Undefeated, adidas Berlin x Solebox, and the adidas Boston x Bodega.

This time around the selected models and cities include New York, Milan, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

adidas Milano x Slam Jam

Italy's world renowned sneaker shop Slam Jam is based in Milan, and has thus been given the task of styling the adidas Milano. The kicks feature a vibrant shade of blue covering most of sneaker in nylon. The three stripes on the side panel come in lime green leather giving the sneaker a more daring look. The tongue and eyelet areas are built in crinkle patent leather. The tongue also is branded Slam Jam. The sneakers side panel branding reads Milano and Slam Jam in gold.

adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff

Yesterday we previewed the adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff. Today we have a closer look at the sneaker. The sneaker is built in grey overbrushed suede with touches of yellow on the tongue and blue leather on the heel and stripes, which all rests on a gum sole. The sneakers heel features SNS branding and the gold foil on the side panel reads both Stockholm and Sneakers N' Stuff.

The original adidas Stockholm came in a blue and yellow colorway inspired by the Swedish flag. The blue and yellow are retained on the sneakers however as secondary elements. The sneakers base comes in grey, which is inspired by the cloudy winter Stockholm sky.

adidas Kopenhagen x Norse Projects

Copenhagen based shop Norse Projects profile has risen this year with their collaboration with New Balance. The shop has now been given the job of styling the adidas Kopenhagen.

The sneakers upper is colored primarily in navy blue except for yellow on the top metal eyelet and heel tab. In terms of build the sneakers are constructed in leather except for lacestays, stripes, and toe, which are made of suede. The side panel like the rest of sneakers in the collection reads Kopenhagen and Norse Projects.

adidas New York x Dave's Quality Meats

New York based DQM, which is a frequent adidas collaborator has given the undertaking of styling the adidas New York. The runner, which first surfaced in the 1980's comes in shades of black, referencing the New York blackouts. The sneakers most distinctive feature can be seen on the top four eyelets are brass d-rings, giving the kicks boot look. "New York" and "DQM" are embossed on the sneakers stripes.

adidas Stockholm x Sneakers N' Stuff

In the middle of October, the first drop from the adidas Consortium "Your City" collection released, which included Los Angeles, Boston, Oslo, and Berlin.

Today, we have a look at a sneaker from the second drop from the "Your City" collection. Stockholm based shop Sneakers N' Stuff has styled the adidas Stockholm. The staff at SNS drew their inspiration from the somber grey sky of Stockholm in winter which also bleeds patches of yellow sun and blue sky. We will keep you posted when the sneakers release.

adidas Consortium Boston Super x Bodega

Here is a look at the upcoming release of the adidas Boston Super styled by Boston based shop Bodega for the adidas Consortium City Series.

We have already seen three sneakers from the adidas Consortium City Series, the adidas Berlin x Solebox, adidas L.A. Trainer x UNDFTD, and the adidas Oslo x Sole Service. Each sneaker is part of the adidas Consortium City Series, which has three phases, this being the first. The initial collection will hit sneaker shops on the 17th of October.

adidas Consortium Oslo x Sole Service

With the adidas 2009 Consortium City Series, adidas has gathered four of its models that are named after cities and paired them with premium sneaker shops from those cities. Today, we have seen previews of the adidas Berlin x Solebox and the adidas L.A. Trainer x UNDFTD.

Oslo based sneaker shop Sole Service is participating in the collection with its entry of the adidas Oslo. The adidas Oslo comes in grey leather with minimal gold and black lettering and the top eyelet in yellow. The sneakers are expected to release this month at shops with premium adidas accounts.

adidas Consortium L.A. Trainer x Undefeated

Earlier today we posted the upcoming release of the adidas Berlin x Solebox, which are part of an adidas Consortium city series release. In addition to Solebox, adidas has recruited Los Angeles based Undefeated for the project. Like Solebox, UNDFTD chose an adidas model that bears their city of origins name, the adidas L.A. Trainer.

The kicks come in red suede, touches of white leather and breathable navy mesh on the side panel and toe-box. The kicks are set to release this month a shops that carry adidas Consortium footwear.

adidas Consortium Berlin x Solebox

adidas Consortium Berlin x Solebox

The latest collaborative release from Berlin based sneaker Solebox is again with with adidas. Given the the fact that Solebox is located in Berlin, the shop chose the adidas Berlin as the their model of choice.

Solebox chose to base their rendition of the Berlin on the sneaker's original colorway. The original make-up can actually be seen on the inner lining of the sneaker. The kicks also feature Solebox branding on the tongue, the side panel in gold and the birthdays of the owners (Hikmet & Suekret) on the inner lining.

Look for the sneakers to release on the 17th of October 2009 in limited numbers at Solebox.

adidas Rod Laver Consortium Series | Drop 2

The first round of the adidas Rod Laver Consortium collection released last month with the participation of UNDFTD, LimitEDitions, VA, and DQM.

A second round of the adidas Rod Laver Consortium collection is now gearing to release later on this month. This time Shanghai based ACU, Hong Kong based, Canadian based Good Foot, Berlin based Solebox, and Copenhagen based Wood Wood too part in the design process.

ACU

Shanghai shop ACU's entry to the collection, material wise is dominated by brown pony skin on the side panel and heel. The upper heel and lacestay are constructed in grey leather and the top two eyelets are gold platted. The heel patches on the kicks read Dusk and Dawn from left to right. On the heel it reads CLOT, the parent brand to ACU.

D-Mop

D-Mop's entry comes in a metallic silver colorway on all sections of the sneakers with a white inner-lining and sole. In terms of material the kicks are constructed in leather and the sole tab reads D-Mop.

Goodfoot

Canadian sneaker shop Goodfoot comes in grey, with a dark grey wool and grey leather construction. The heel tab reads GDFT, the top eyelet is metal and the outsole is gum.

Solebox

Solebox has taken inspiration from hiking boots to construct their constribution the the pack. The sneakers have a classic look in dark sand suede dominated upper and feature a D-ring top eyelet. The inner lining and mesh tongue are colored in burgundy. The heel comes in silver with a reflective 3M coating. The heel tab reads Sole Lover.

Wood Wood

Wood Wood's entry comes in a navy canvas construction with a nubuck lining. The heel tab features a "butterfly" logo and the sockliner features a collection of little logos giving the sneaker a unique feel.

All of the sneakers pictured will release on the 19th of September select sneaker shops with adidas Consortium accounts.
