The history of Ventile dates back to the Second World War when the British developed the fabric as a natural water resistant textile used for fighter pilot suits, a pre-caution for those forced to parachute into the sea.

The functional vintage fabric made an appearance on the Supermarine Bike Shoe from FEIT back in 2010. More recently, the textile was used on a Dover Street Market edition of the Air Force 1.

To produce its reworking of the Traxter for Clarks Sportswear, Hanon has used Ventile as the main material for the upper. The EVA soled kicks with water resistant functionality are releasing today worldwide from Hanon to SNS and Packer Shoes.
