Its always interesting to see what people create at the Air Force 1 Bespoke Nike iD Studio at 21 Mercer where the material and color options are largely unrestrained.
Celebrating the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Air Force 1, Dirk Rudolf journeyed from Berlin to NYC to lay his touch of the sneaker. With so many options available, you have to go in with a plan and Dirk Rudolf aka DF0RCE1 focused with the phrase “Dress 2 Impress” with dressier fare like Cole Haan and Mark McNairy in mind.
The end result is a striking blend of an icy sole, cork, suede and reptile, molded in black and a shade of blue.
I wanted to get a supreme Air Force 1 that could be rocked with more formal clothing on such formal events. So the motto I stuck with was “Dress 2 Impress”. The corresponding colorway I had in mind with that was black but with some kind of eye catching color/material mix like on some dress-up shoes lately. To get this more dressy look I wanted I choose two kinds of black premium leather, lizard and square pattern, and combined them with blue suede and some “cork” material in the end.
The tags show the word “Bespoke” on one shoe and the date I went to 21 Mercer, 93012, on the other. The Nike Air Logo is stitched in blue on the black suede heel tab and cut out of the cork material right on top of the blue suede tongue.
