The ellesse Assist has its origins on the basketball court but like many basketball sneakers of the 80s era, they offered dual functionality for skateboarding. Referencing its place in skate history (Natas Kaupas wore them in the cult classic ‘Streets On Fire.’ & Jim Thiebaud wore them on the cover of Transworld Skateboarding), Milan based Special has hooked up the sneaker as part of the ellesse heritage “Fab 5 Project” Part II. Special keeps the colorway consistent with original (white, navy & red) while adding their own flavor though material choices (ostrich)and patent leather).
