The Nike “Be True” website is up and running with info about the vintage college hoops Dunk collection which is currently releasing.

Earlier we reported on the Nike “Be True” Vintage Dunk series as one of the many dunk packages releasing in 2008. Now we have some definitive release dates for the pack which blends college basketball colors and vintage detailing to produce a new style of Dunk. Next up on the release deck is the Nike Dunk “Villanova releasing this saturday. Check your local shops that carry exclusive kicks for more details. This year Nike introduced the concept of new vintage sneakers with the vintage running series. The series gave classic Nike running shoes new life, but with a clearly worn look. The idea has been such a hit that we then got word that Nike would be continuing the vintage theme and taking it to Basketball with a release of Vandals and Terminator vintage style kicks. Nike has now added the Nike Dunk to the list of basketball kicks getting the worn vintage treatment. Nike is marketing the series of Dunks as the “Be True” The College Colors Program”. The kicks pictured represent the College basketball teams of Michigan University, Syracuse, Iowa State, St, Johns and Kentucky. Also slated to be included in the pack are UNLV, NC Sate, and the University of Arizona. The kicks will release in 2008.

Update: The kicks will release in France on the 7th of January exclusively at Colette and then will receive a much wider release to shops all over the country.

Converse is celebrating a 100 years of producing kicks and to mark such an important moment it is releasing to rare treats from its catalog. These are the Converse Jack Purcell Racearound produced in 1973 based upon sports cars. The kicks feature a mix of smooth and pebble pigskin leather and are currently available at Japanese shop Flauge.

Like this year we saw a range of Nike Vintage Running shoes which mimicked the look of sneakers which have been aged and slightly worn, vintage basketball kicks will be released.
