One of the most memorable political statements made by an Olympic was at the Mexico City games in 1968 by US athlete Tommie Smith. Smith raised his fist in solidarity against racism against blacks in the US and abroad. French urban culture group La MJC has organized an evening to celebrate Smith and mark the introduction of a line of kicks by Puma honoring him. 50 free passes are up for grabs to event transportation not included. As an added benefit De La Soul will perform live. The kicks are set to release very soon in France and around the globe.

Adidas has joined forces with Japanese denim producer Kaihara to create a pair of Adicolor kicks using premium selvedge denim and soft tan leather. The kicks will release on the 8th of August of 2008 at Hanon.

Here is interesting collaboration, Nike and the Lupe Fiasco brand Fall of Rome have come together to create this pair of Nike Air Force 1 Supreme Low in a black/gold colorway with patent leather materials. Word on the kicks is that only 4 exist at this point. No word on a release at this point.
